What would you do if you knew it would make someone’s day?
We all get caught up thinking what we do has to be perfect or if we just had a little more time we would get around to allowing ourselves to be creative and actually do something that inspires us and possibly others too!
There never seems to be enough TIME to do the things we want to do. I read a quote the other day that said, “Don’t live the same year 75 times and call it a life.”
WOW!!
I think everyone should have this taped to their bathroom mirror; we NEED to create time to be creative!! If we keep our eyes and our hearts open, inspiration shows up in many unlikely places!
Many of my clients, friends and family know I LOVE to collect heart rocks that I find on the beach in Florida, a few have asked me how all of this started.
Here is the story about my very first heart rock.
I found it while I was up at Lake Erie over thirty years ago. I was going through a difficult time with my then fiancé. Our wedding was six weeks away and something just didn’t feel right. I remember thinking I needed some sort of sign to move on,
I looked down and saw a perfect heart rock! As I picked it up I realized that I needed to listen to my heart!!
We ended up calling off the wedding, it was pretty embarrassing at the time but the best decision I ever made.
I found the right man a year later and we have been married now for 26 years… I am so happy I made the right decision! One day while collecting heart rocks at the beach, my husband asked me, “What are you going to do with all of those rocks?”
Just then I had an “Aha moment” and said, “I think I am going to use these to make something to give to the families at the Ronald McDonald House.” He loved the idea.
I asked a group of friends to meet with me to brainstorm some things we could do and you would be amazed by the outpouring of care and creativity these women displayed!
My good friend Erin found a special book for me named “Heart Stones.”
They all wanted to continue their commitment to bring smiles to the families who needed a little joy in their lives!
My hope for you is to find that place in your heart that wants to do something to bring joy to others!
